When Jim Cook took over the Motorcycle Program at Kingsport, TN in 1994, his passion for motorcycle safety had already been brewing for quite a while. Jacky Morrell, also known as Jacko, was Jim’s cousin and they grew up as brothers. Jacko was killed in a motorcycle crash at the young age of 17. The scholarship fund was started in memory of Jacky Morrell.
“I feel that if Jacko had taken this motorcycle safety training course it could have saved his life and
prevented the crash from ever happening. Therefore I started the “Jacky Morrell Scholarship Fund”
to hopefully help prevent another family from going through the same tragedy.” Jim Cook
Every penny goes to helping good standing students who can't afford the course to be able to take it and learn how to ride a motorcycle safely. All Donations are extremely appreciated and no amount is too small. We do about 40 scholarships a year on average, times that by $225.00 each and you get whapping total of $9000.00! We honestly could use all the help we can get. We have not and will not turn an eligible young person away knowing that it is a serious as their safety and well being. Simply click the button below to help save a young person from getting hurt or even killed on a motorcycle because they could not afford it.
